People’s Association (PA) is organizing its 2018 Paddles on WaVe event, and SURFSET Singapore is going to be there!
We were actually part of the line-up two years ago, remember? No? See what went on at PA Paddles on WaVe 2016.
Paddles on WaVe is a one-day event with lots of sand-and-sea fun, described as “a combination of water and beach lifestyle sport carnival”. To be specific, it’s PA Water-Venture East Coast who’s organizing this event.
Activities include Kayaking, Stand-up Paddling, Windsurfing, Beach yoga, and of course SURFSET Fitness. Read more
We were at the Sports Hub Community Play Day over the last weekend! Did you see us?

Sports Hub Community Play Days are quarterly events held around Singapore Sports Hub’s venues. Organised by Singapore Sports Hub, it aims to bring together the community and families through sports and other lifestyle experiences.
SURFSET Fitness was at the 6th edition, held at the stadium, no less! It was an action packed series, looking near and far for a Sports Hub Super Warrior!
Our friends from The Yoga Mandala came by for our first ever Acroyoga ACROVINYASA Workshop! Leading the class was Sara Wee and Rachel Ng, who led us from solo vinyasas, to (erm) team-bonding activities, and finally with partner inversions and acroyoga. A happy group of 15 SURFSET regulars turned up to get stacked and get jacked.
Sara did promise that things may get chaotic during the session, and boy it did. Lots of triumphant high-fives, spotters rushing to catch a fall, nervous laughter, flat-out laughter, and the occasional scream. Needless to say, we all had great fun. Shuyi had the foresight to get her husband help film a short video for the enjoyment of everyone. Here it goes!
Looks like all that thinking from Shuyi’s last Acroyoga session has materialized into something more. We’re super excited to announce our first ever Acroyoga Workshop! It’ll be held on 29 Apr 2017, a Saturday, and based on Acrovinyasa – a variant which unites elements from acroyoga and vinyasa flows. It’ll be conducted by Acrovinyasa certified instructors Sara Wee and Rachel Ng from The Yoga Mandala.
Yep, we’re all sunburnt from being out in the sun the whole day. We had a great time with all of you guys out by the beach on Sunday! In fact, we had so much fun we had a video made to remember the day! See how much fun we all had, watching airplanes and getting fit.
We’re hitting the beach! Again! This time we’ll be out at East Coast Park for an upcoming event, Paddles on WaVe. Are you ready for a relaxing day chilling by the beach? You could be having fun with stand up paddling, ZORB balls, and SURFSET Fitness! Okay, maybe replace the “chilling” with “sweating”. That’s how we like it too!
Paddles on WaVe is a one-day-only, fun-filled event organized by PA Water-Venture, where you get to try out six different lifestyle beach sports at a price of only $5.
“$5?! That’s like half the price of a plate of pasta!”

Once again we brought our boards out-and-about, this time to a big exhibition hall in Suntec Exhibition and Convention Centre. We were there for Asia Xpedition, a sports and travel fair focusing on adventure. We thought it was a great way to do many activities in one day – at the fair you could do archery, climb a rock wall, bounce on a trampoline, pole dance, ride on a bmx bike, and shoot rubber balls out a paintball gun. Awesome? You bet.
Of course, you could also hop on our boards and start sweating!
We got a pretty big booth at the event, with enough space for five boards, and a little stage for the instructor board so that we could hold classes. We also made a nice little backdrop with our logo so people would know who we are, and take photos in all sorts of cool poses. It looked like this: Read more
Once again, SURFSET Fitness goes out-and-about. This time, we’re bringing the surf to Asia Xpedition at Suntec City!
Asia Xpedition is a sports and travel fair focusing on adventure. Yep, sounds about right! Our surf-inspired fitness classes has always been a big hit with the adventurous types, looking to break past plateaus and to step out of their comfort zones and stable grounds. We’re part of a line up of exciting activities that include rock climbing, wind-surfing simulation, and BMX biking!
SURFSET Fitness got out and about again! This time, it’s not the laid-back beach vibes with bikinis; instead, we got busy at Orchard road!
As part of their regular editions of The Gallery Experience, Mandarin Gallery hosted a fitness event called Featherlight, which is a weekend of fitness sessions with a musical theme. See our previous post for more information on the event and what it’s about.
They call it a light-hearted fitness marathon weekend. A marathon, indeed, but only if you had signed up for every single session. We had SURFSET taking the head- and tail-ends of the days, with morning sessions at 10.00 am and evening sessions at 5.30 pm. Read more
